Why was there mistrust between Truman and Marshall?

1947 - During the Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan.
I think Truman may have seen Europe as a threat if the Marshall gives Europe weapons.

Truman had the utmost respect for Marshall. He may have disagreed on one issue. Even today there is a lot of debate about how much we arm our "allies".
