Okay so, I LOVE American Eagle jeans...but lately, I can only fit into a Size 8!!! and it makes me feel really fat, cuz the truth is I only have a size 34 inch hip but their Size Chart says that Size 8 islike 39-40 inch hip!!!! but why are their sizes so screwed up??? I'm also only 5'2....and I'm not "fat" but....I feel it wearing a size 8. I use to be a Size4 at AE.so whats going on? is it ME that needs to lose the weight or are their jeans getting smaller??

Are you measuring the fullest part of the hips around the butt?

On the AE size chart, it states 34 inch hips is a size 00. So I'm not sure what is going on there. Their jeans must run really really small!

P.S. I'm 5ft2 with 39 inch hips and I'm not fat or overweight, but I do have wide hip bones. Thank you!

HTH : )

OK yes a lots of people ask that question but to me i think its just on their size charts they just assume their not really sure plus everybody has different sizes ,so don't feel like your fat because they just don't really know eveybody's sizes and some people with no thighs but have long legs end up with baggy pants if you can't find your right size use different jeans from different places. i know its hard to let go of AE good luck

No your probably measuring your hip wrong because according the the chart I'm a size 4 but actually I'm a size 2 but it turns out i was measuring in the wrong spot at AE.com it tells you how to measure

No, it is not you it is the jeans. The sizes are screwed up because AE is just one of the several overprised, overhyped stores that fit their clothes to shallow anorexic girls. I'm not saying that you are like that, but I would seriously suggest you go to a normal store like kohls or Target or something.

It's not you, their sizes run weird. They also shrink so if your 8s start feeling too tight or too short, you probably haven't gained weight.
