I want to specifically work with animals. I like outdoor work, rather than working inside on a computer and such. Thanks for your help.

To get a college degree in zoology there will be a lot of science and some math. Take biology and chemistry for sure and physics if you can. If your school has an Advanced Biology course take that too. And take Algebra I and II. In some schools algebra II is called pre-calculus. Then when you get to college you won't get buried.

You also want to take all of the college prep stuff at your school because no matter what your major is you have to take the basics, like English Lit. etc.

You want to study science, english, and math. But you will need to go to college, so you have to take the necessary courses to do so. Here is a link to the admissions page of a school in Southern California that does animal studies. I worked at a zoo in college (in visitor services) and almost every keeper came from this school.
