Wymondham College is the second largest state boarding school in Europe, located in Norfolk, UK.

It is built on the site of the World War Two USAAF 231st Station Hospital and when the school first opened in 1951 the hospital's Nissen huts were used as classrooms and dormitories. Brick-built accommodation began to appear in the late 1950s but Nissen huts continued in use, principally as classrooms, through to end of the 1990s. The only Nissen hut that remains is the College chapel (there were two others used for storage, but they have since been demolished). A memorial garden has been created on the site of the former mortuary.

In 1951 there were two separate schools - Grammar and Technical - each with separate Heads. The two merged in the mid-1950s after an uneasy co-existence. The school remained exclusively 'boarding' until the early 1970s when there was a merger with the County Grammar School, which had been hosted at Wymondham on a 'temporary' basis for the best part of ten years.

The Grammar status was lost with the advent of Comprehensive education, but the school still maintains very high standards and produces excellent GCSE results every year.

As a Boarding school, Wymondham College has 4 main school houses named after vaious famous people; Fry Hall, Kett Hall, New Hall and Cavell hall. Peel hall and Lincoln Hall were added much later, the former housing the new year 7 pupils and the latter holding the upper sixth.

There is currently extensive building works going on at the college in an event which will see the construction of 9 new classrooms, a new Sixth Form boarding house and an enlarged dining area amongst others. The total cost of development will cost somewhere in the region of £9 Million.

Former pupils include rising star Andy Carlisle who was a pupil between 1996-1999, and Kevin Roegele
