the celebs have a big enough audience to play to, unfortunately. They have a huge impact on the morals, or lack thereof, and I personally do not support their movies with few exceptions. This country needs real heroes, not those fools!

you use the word 'we' like you have just summed up the whole world and now you have come to this conclusion. If you believe you have then you are wrong because a small percentage is 'obsessed' with celebrity culture. Yeah other people watch TV, they don't all get paid millions, that's just stereotypical. And most of the people that get paid 'millions' do things that others can't so if you're complaining then go and try some of the things that they do. It won't be so easy.

I think that looking at the lives of the rich and famous is a little escape from our reality. Celebrities live in a glamorous world that average people could only dream about. I mean, the only time I've ever been in a limo was when my Grandpa died, and it took us from the funeral to the cemetery. These people have a limo at their beckon call. I use to love reading gossip magazines, but not so much anymore. Its just a stupid American culture thing!!! Kinda like all the reality shows, you start getting emotionally involved with them and their life story and struggles. It is a little creepy. Kinda like stalking them from a safe distance.

I agree, however I don't read the papers or the glossy magazines, and I never ever buy anything that is endorsed by celebrities, especially people like Jade Goody. She had a liposuction operation just to release a fitness DVD, Jordan did the same because Jordan admits to having lipo - and there's no way she could exercise with the size of her boobs! And in hindsight Jade Goody has no self discipline to go on a diet or exercise. I think it must be youngsters who buy them.

well, magazines and those media make cash outta those celebs. however, celebs are...rather too arrogant to notice that they're turning into objects that people buy..i mean take beckham for example...(not that he's too arrogant...)...he's paid millions and millions...but he's 'traded' and 'sold' and 'bought'...does that not sound like an object to you?
moreover, people love thsoe juicy gossip about celebs simply and probably because they have nothing better to do and that they like to see someone else's live messing up or fixing up rather than theirs...thats why i have a personal dislike of celeb related media...

I think u r exactly right.... Im a fan of one celeb, and that is Kevin Costner. That is only because he is in several of my favorite movies. But with that being said, I agree with you completely, if you look around everyone is always looking for cell phone numbers and email addresses, seriously people get a life!

Good point. I was just thinking about how when celebrities go places to eat or something, they get it for free sometimes. Yet the people who are working their butts of for $9.50 an hour have to pay full price? It makes no sense?
