Street justice....hmmm, an interesting concept.
Okay, so imagine this: you're walking down the street minding your own business, when a woman followed by a group of five or six men approaches you. She has obviously been the victim of a brutal attack; she is bruised and bleeding, and her clothes are torn. She walks up to you, points her finger at you, and shouts, "That's him! That's the man who raped me!" The group of men with her promptly gang-tackle you and beat you to a bloody pulp; then one of them produces a rope, they drag you over to the nearest tree or traffic signal pole, where they then hang you. Since they're amateurs and don't know how to properly hang someone, it takes you nearly ten minutes to slowly strangle to death. But it doesn't matter, because street justice has been administered.
Only thing is, you didn't do it. They hung an innocent man. YOU.
So I ask you...do YOU think "street justice" should be practiced more?

How do you know it's "justice?" Self-defense is fine, of course, but we have this unique theory in our nation that you're innocent until you're proven guilty. Unless you witness the crime and what led up to it, how can you be sure of guilt or innocence? Frankly, prosecutors win over 95% of their cases--the news only reports those that are lost. I guess under your theory the Duke players who were accused of rape would already be killed. Far more innocent people have been sent to prison and found to be innocent by DNA evidence than vice versa.

that's a tough question. we are innocent until proven guilty. i guess if you witnessed a person killing or hurting another it could be considered defense, but in this messed up country, the hero would be the villain and the criminal would walk probably with a legal settlement against the person who intervened.
i guess if I knew a child predator moved in next door to me and my family, i would look for any excuse to put them down.

The police have to follow the rules ---but I do not as far as administering my own brand of justice if someone commits a crime to me or a loved one and just stands there. --Man you have got to be kidding -------------------
