It is disgusting that two paedophiles, (paedophilia is a mental illness for which there is no known cure) have been let loose on the streets.
Either the judges involved are sympathetic to these men's beliefs that it is okay to have sex with chidren, or the judges do not fully realise how serious the condition is that these men suffer from.
Either way, both these judges should be held to account for their actions. Prison overcrowding is a poor excuse. If these men were terrorists, they would have found a space for them.
Because children are involved, these men are not seen as being as serious a threat, unlike terrorists.
Paedophiles are a real threat to the fabric of our society.
Children who are sexually abused grow up with serious emotional and sexual problems. Notwithstanding, the mental, physical, and spiritual damage it may also cause.
If these ridiculous decisions are a taste of what is to come, then I can only say that, as a society, we have failed our children.
Our children need our protection, and these judges (who are supposed to judge on behalf of society according to the laws of the land) have failed to protect them. A shame on them.

I'm an expat Scot in the USA and it alarms me to see what is going on in the old country. Here in the USA, Los Angeles County Jail is overcrowded and people are serving 10% of their sentence, if that. You might get three months for a minor offense and be out in less than a week. However, there would be outcry if any judge said he would have jailed a paedophile but lets him go free. Maybe both judges were making a point, but I think it is dangerous to do that. If sexually assaulting a child is not a violent crime, what is? Allowing these people out on the streets to re-offend is silly in the extreme, no matter what the high-minded issues are.

This may be contraversial.....
I think they should bring back capital punishment.
If murder or other heinous crimes are committed, such as paedophilia or killing children should be hanged.
People nowadays kill people, then go away for 3 years them come out on licence.. THE WORLD HAS GONE CRAZY.
People who kill others en route to work.. such as 9/11 or 7/7 they should be in the gas chamber.. see how they like being trapped somewhere and left to die.
That will solve the overcrowding problem we have, prisoners will not live the life of luxury at the taxpayers expense.
Also criminals will think twice about commiting crime if capital punishment came back.
Also, I heard the other day, the prisoners were complaining of the conditions of the cells, surely they must lose their human rights. I mean, what do they want, a room at the SAVOY or RITZ?

i know, and then that paedophile sat on tv and said that he was 'lucky' that he got off. But we were not to blame the judge because 'his hands were tied'. I say we give the people that are truly sorry for getting into debt a second chance instead of peadophiles that NEED to be locked up. Now there is no way of making sure that this man never does it again, good question x.

You can"t blame the Home Secretary for what has happened.
Blame the judges, they are the ones that pass the sentences.
If they wanted to send these pervs to jail, then they should have done so.
It makes me wonder if some of these judges have sympathy for these pervs, after all there are quite a few of the that have been caught in compromising situations themselves over the years

The judge was copping out! As a judge, he should have applied the appropriate sentence, regardless of what the Home Secretary said. To my mind, you treat paedophiles the same way you treat murderers. You lock 'em up and keep 'em off the streets! Period!

John Reid is making sure the jails are full, especially when the cops have desires on Levy, Blair and co going down for lying and perverting the course of justice.

IMO if there is standing room left, a jail is NOT full.
These people really upset me. They routinely deny their victims the right to a childhood or even life itself. Then sue successfully because it is cruel and unusual to make a man eat smooth peanut butter when he prefers chunky.
Euthanize the bastards, they are little more than rabid dogs.

They should be lined up against a wall and shot!! If one stands in front of the other, 1 bullet will do the job!! A lot cheaper than keeping these bastards in a 'luxury jail' for a couple of years!!

It's sadly the way British justice and the political correctness party want the country to be run mate and not much to do with common sense and what's right or wrong. Wasn't it Sir Winston Churchill who said ("The law is an ***!)
