Is there a speed difference between 184 and 240 pin SDRAM...?

Well pure SDRAM only comes in 168 pin, so I am assuming you are referring to DDR SDRAM (184 pin) and DDR2 SDRAM (240 pin). DDR2 is faster than DDR, that is the whole purpose of it.
