I actually gave up guilt for Lent about 10 years ago.
However, the thing I do that would shock and appall everyone who THINKS they know me will probably work. I do what I call "trashy novel night" about once every two weeks. I find a romance novel that will take me about an hour to read, run a hot bath with bubbles, get a glass of wine, a little bit of dark chocolate, and turn on some really relaxing music. Then I spend about an hour just soaking my cares away. The phone is turned off, the door is locked, and no one and nothing disturbs me in my little happy place.
