Depending on where you are right now, $1000 in US money may be a lot. But here in the US, it's really not that much at all. It's hard to find a decent place to live for less than about $300-$400 per month. And that does not include utilities (gas, electric, water, garbage, phone, etc.). Then, almost anywhere, you'll have expenses for transportation, whether it's a car, taxi, bus, subway, or whatever. Clothing and laundry also figure in. Then you say you can raise your own food. Enough land for a garden is going to cost more than what I've just quoted. Land for animals would cost all you've got.
This is not to discourage you from trying, but to open your eyes that it's not as cheap and easy as you might have thought. Most people here in the US with a fixed income of around $1000 have to depend on other help to make ends meet.

I found the right place. Georgia, USA. It is warm, safe and can be inexpensive. The main living quarters in rural sections are pre-manufactured homes. Too often, young couples with big ideas, default on the payments and lose the home. So, it goes up for resale dirt cheap. In addition, there are many abandoned homes because when the parents pass away, the children do not want the house and it sits and rots away.
I'm not saying you can pull off a good deal on a moments notice, but look around.
Keep in mind, that any society, any place in the world ,is based on the local economy. The higher the per capita income, the higher the cost of living. So, selecting a depressed area affords the least cost of living. Especially if you have a fixed income, and do not rely on a job for income, that kind of area makes sense. I live so far from civilization, you can't git here from thar. (Kidding) But it is sparsly populated and 20 miles to the nearest shopping mall.
Good luck.

Look for somewhere in the south, from N. Carolina across to Oklahoma and Texas. Avoid areas of high growth, the housing is much too expensive. Rural small towns would be your best bet. I've seen homes in rural towns in Oklahoma advertised for 30 to 40 thousand, usually a 2 or 3 bed frame. 3 bed brick might cost 50-80 thousand, new homes are around 100,000 and up. Good luck.

Well if you only earn $1000/month... you won't be able to live in South Florida unless you live with 3 other people to share the costs because rent alone is $1000, plus utilities, bills, insurance, and gas. If you want to grow stuff, you're gonna have to move to the midwest... that's anywhere in the middle and to the west.

Safe and cheap living where you can raise your food is ND but it is NOT warm plus costs of heating fuel is high. Maybe you should seek some form of public assistance there is no shame in seeking help sometimes people need a helping hand dont look at it as a hand out.

All I can say to you is "good luck" $1000.00 a month is hardly rent, then add the utilities.
I lived on the Minnesota/ Canadian border, my nearest neighbor was 3 miles away, the nearest town was 38 miles away. You still have to eat, buy the seed, can the food. It simply can't be done for this amount.

$one thousand is stable sufficient right here interior the Philippines and majority of the Filipinos can comprehend and speek in English. yet once you're making plans to stay in Manila or Makati then that should no longer be sufficient. provinces like Cebu, Batangas, Pampanga and Bicol have decrease often occurring of residing and could be a suitable place to have a rocking chair, a chilly beer and sea coast. =) im sorry approximately your accident.. =(

Buddy is right-- I have social security and a small annuity-- both of which aren't a lot more than what you want to earn-- however, my home is paid for as my car-- but there still are things like insurance for both-- food in winter-- on and on.
good luck

I would advise you to apply to the Salvation Army for assistance. This would be a good place to begin to establish yourself. They should be able to help you find a place to live within your budget, or provide you a place until what you need could be found. It would help a lot to do volunteer work, this would help you to earn their respect for you. The southern states are you best places to look for a place to live. Florida, the southern gulf states, southern Texas, and other areas in the southern region.
