A civil partnership is not legally binding like a marriage, so no you cannot get a British passport from the 'marriage'

However if you live in the UK for 5 years without leaving you will then be entitled to a passport through residency.

civil partnership has the same rights as hetero. It is supposed to be even easier than hetero marriage immigration. There are some newspaper articles about it. So yes it is possible. That's just the law. Of course you will get questioned and i honestly don't believe that you marry that guy because you are in love with him or even gay... If they find out you are in trouble, serious trouble and don't believe you just get a second try with another guy you paid. They will ban you. So if you love him yes you can. If you don't love him, i understand you want a better live for you but i doubt it will work. You couldn't fool me and i didn't even try to make a liar out of you. Trust me they will.

You cannot marry someone of the same sex in the United Kingdom.
This is because the definition of a marriage is "the union of a man and a woman".
You can have a Civil Partnership, in fact they have proved very popular and after 12 months of the law allowing Civil Partnerships, over 15,000 couples have had their partnerships registered.
Civil Partnerships give the couple "next of kin" rights. Interestingly, there is no requirement to be gay, to be in a sexual relationship, only that you are of the same sex and not prohibited in law to undergo civil partnership.

UK does not share with the rest of Europe the same principles in the circulation of people. the Europeans can not easily live in UK as one from Spain can live in Italy. you have to ask for the UK citizenship. there are requirements to fulfil

No i'm afraid i THINK it is not classed as a real marrage here in UK, one day it might become legal i guess, but not at the moment.
Dont marry to get a passport, its not worth it. Just work hard for it. After all it will follow you for the REST of your life!

As an EU citizen you do not need to become British to live here.

So, you know that you are EU citizen, you know that you can live in the UK -- what else do you want to know now, exactly?

Gays can't marry...they can have a token civil partnership if they must but they may NEVER marry.(even though they like to call it that)
