question is - do you want your computer to be at risk for viruses and / or hackers?
if your answer is no - then I would suggest you install at least an anti virus program
there are a/v and firewall programs free for download online

Yes, you do. Macs have been targetted less than Windows because of Windows' market share, but as hackers have shifted to small-scale attacks to stay under the radar of the security industry, more attacks against Macs are showing up. Even if you think it's a million times less likely for a Mac to get a virus than a PC, over the course of a year you're pretty likely to get one.
