My (Windows XP Home) PC is hard-wired to a Linksys Wireless-G Router (WRT54GS). My kids' PC (also Windows XP Home) is upstairs. Currently they have no network access. I want to install a wireless-G card into their machine so we can play games and so they can access the Internet, but only when I grant permission. Is there a way to turn on and off their access to the network from my machine? I'm looking for the simplest solution, no levels of permission, just total on or off.

here is the thing, usually the router will have a regular plug-in as well as the wireless features. you can set up the router so that your computer is on the plug-in and then the kid accesses the wireless (or when guest come over). So once everything is set up you have 2 approaches to "cutting someone off" for the wireless in the most low-tech way. Either you only give them their removable USB wireless receiver (for the kid's computer) when you think its OK to go online, or you log into the router and disable/enable the wireless part of the router's features when you want to turn it on and off. To log into a router you type the router's IP address in your web browser and it take you to the router's setup.
