I`ve never been to prison but I think if it is the same I would prefer the death penalty!

As a correction Officer it's purely entertainment. Stereotyped entertainment. There are tons of security breaches that would never,ever happen in any State prison. The closest thing I ever saw that depicted prison life (besides the American Justice Series of the Big houses) was a movie called "The Innocent Man", starring Tom Selleck whom was framed by dirty cops and sent to prison. That stuff does go on.

It's dramatized, obviously. It's just entertainment. I can't imagine there's that much excitement going on in real prisons.
