I mean we got some religious folks on here, trying to answer all questions with belief in Christ is the way, homosexuality is evil, but you can steal and hurt other people that wouldn't cost any of your soul. And, others that are just ignorant to the way others are made, and don't respect them enough to tell them that they don't respect them, they just spew their venomous hatred over the computer. Here is one more thing to think about before you spew your venomous hatred towards me, stick and stones. . . baby.

One persons interpretation of what is right and wrong. I do not want any part of Religion because religion is something people argue about while spirituality is something one experiences. It is ashame that the World breeds such hate, greed and judgment. If I had a choice I would not be here.

For the same reason people who aren't religious do the same thing...they are afraid of being wrong and looking bad.

There are a few of us out there who do respect others' beliefs even though we don't share them. Personally, I do believe that the only way to spend eternity with Christ is to believe in Him and to follow Him. However, at the same time, I respect your choice not to believe in Him. The problem is, if He is everything good (as I believe He is), then you will be spending eternity away from all that is good. And that would be hell - by your own choice.

I have many friends who are homosexual, who understand that although I do not agree with their lifestyle choice, as I would not agree with heterosexuals who chose to live together without marriage, I still respect their right to make that choice.

Hear! Hear!
You're absolutely right. Fundamentalism is a farce and an embarrassment. It is also an horrific perversion of the teachings of Christ, which taught forgiveness and to correct one's own behavior before judging others. Jesus also certainly would not support the political ambitions of a moneyed elite. He was about the meek, the poor and the humble.
These are the new Pharisees.

It's pure sociology. Symbolic Interactionism is in short the way people interpret symbols. There is the objective, what is real, and the subjective, individual perception. The genes you were born with along with your life experiences (nature/nurture) shape your individual perception of the world. These differing perceptions shape individuals thoughts to which justify their behavior. I hope you see where I'm coming from with this. Check out the link it will probably explain it more thouroughly.

I don't like religious fanatics, either.
I think that they are suffering from Inadequacy Complexes and religion is the only rope they can hang onto. I really do believe that God loves everybody--including murderers, pedophiles, and rapists. If we are all made in the image of God, how could He not love us all? Anyone who claims Christianity and disputes this fact is misguided. Just live your life by the Golden Rule and I believe you'll be fine.

Point Blank; Ego. I try not to look down on people, but as we know sometimes it's hard. Maybe because some find their beliefs under attack. Or maybe it's the insecurity. Most peeps just want to tick people off in general.

Some people are just selfish or have lived their entire life in a bubble where they never met any of the people they put down.

Many people seem to have the need to feel superior to others, and measure their self-esteem in that manner.

Everyone deserves respect no matter what religion they are, color, race, gender, sexual orientation. The only ones who don't deserve respect are pedophiles, murderers, rapists etc.

That's the way it seems to have always been, and I see every reason to believe that's the way it will be forever.
