I'm looking for a new hobby, and i've heard that crocheting and knitting are pretty cool and fun.
i've also seen people making hemp bracelets.

but i tend to give up if i can't do something, so can someone please tell me which is the easiest to do? or tell me of something else i should try...

thanks

One thing you should definitely try is sticking to something so you get good at it. That's a valuable skill you will need to do well in life. Nothing worthwhile is going to be easy at first. There's always a learning curve. Hopefully, as you mature, you'll have a more mature attitude toward really working at learning new skills. I knit beautifully now, and have some gorgeously unique sweaters that truly are 'wearable art,' but I wouldn't have them if I hadn't stuck to it and really learned how to work the needles.

That said, I think knitting and crocheting are both fairly simple to learn. They both require practice and some sticking to it, and are well worth learning. I picked up knitting first, so I think that's easier. A friend who learned first to crochet says that's easier. Both of us do both now, because we taught each other. Many crocheted projects are smaller than knitted ones, so you finish sooner. If that matters to you, try the crocheting.

If you're worried about not sticking to it, enroll in a class that meets once a week for several weeks. Make yourself finish the entire class so you get your money's worth. That'll help you stick to it.

If you're looking for something that requires no skills but simply fills time and gives gorgeous results, try making beaded bracelets. Get some stretchy cord and some pretty beads and have fun. I do that, too, and thoroughly enjoy it.

Cardmaking is another simple hobby that yields fine results without much practice. Try that.

I knit, and crochet..I happen to think it's fun..but that's just me. You do have to have alot of patience for this though..and if that's something you don't have..well...you should probably find another hobby. Crocheting is a bit simpler than knitting, it only requires one needle and basically it's just making loops. You can find all sorts of crocheting projects online and can buy a kit at any place like walmart or hobby lobby. They also have knitting kits if it's something you think you'd have the patience for. Once you learn the basics, it's really not that bad. It's actually relaxing to just sit and watch tv and knit a scarf or a blanket..atleast in my opinion.

A good idea would be to go to the hobby lobby, or walmart's craft section and just look at all the stuff they have. Pick something you think you could do..they have all sorts of really fun stuff that you could easy pick up and teach yourself to do.

I tried learning to knit when I was 7...and it didn't work out. I just don't see how having 2 needles or 3 or 4 can be anything but distracting. I make my own jewellry, including hemp things. Hemp is awesome. You can get different thicknesses of hemp string, and different colors of hemp yarn. I absolutely love crocheting. There's lots of books, videos, and cds to help you learn. There's needled from teensy little ones for lace and stuff right on to giant ones as thick as your thumb. When I make a scarf or an afghan, I usually stick somewhere around a size 5 needle. Plus, there's lots of free patterns on the internet.

I've crocheted and made hemp jewelry. I like making the jewelry because it is easy and I can give them away as gifts to my friends and they will actually wear them.

crochet is easier, but knitting is more versatile and prettier.
