Hey guys,
Well my hubbie and I are celebrating V-day and our 1St wedding ann. about the same time and would like to go out to a nice hotel/motel for the weekend. We are looking for something not to expensive but with a Jacuzzi. Any ideas of a romantic place thats not to expensive to go??? It can be in chicago or a near suburb....

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites on the Near North Side. It's not the cheapest, but they have nicer amenities and a happy hour (you get a few free drink tickets when you check in), there's a mini-bar in the room, and it's within walking distance to the Hard Rock, Ed Debevick's, Michigan Ave, tons of restaurants. Second City theater is a short cab ride and usually easy to get tickets for the improv. (It's hilarious! GO!) When I was there we also had a carriage ride. It was romantic and fun at the same time.

It seems like you already know that you're not going to get a hotel/motel for $70-$100 in Chicago unless you're in (A) a bad neighborhood or (B) near the airports which are actually nice areas. My suggestion is you get what you pay for in Chicago. Midway Airport is actually very small and not busy at all. Look over there or you're going to end up staying in a suburb that isn't even close to being in Chicagoland.

Not sure what expensive is for you, but the Sofitel Water Tower is very nice and in a great location. Probably about $200 a night.
