February can be really hit and miss as far as the weather here (I live in Tampa) It really depends on if there has been a front move through.... In February we can have spectacular days, a rainy day as a front passes through, and a cool/cold day one after the other and then several warming days.
You really need to watch the weather forecast JUST BEFORE you leave for florida at this time of year to see exactly what it will be like.... forecasts are usually really accurate but it is hard to say now (end of January) what it will be like at the end of February.
One thing that is true... Usually the water temps are still pretty cool unless the pool/water is heated... this year water has stayed a bit warmer as the ocean and Gulf have stayed in upper 60's.

You should wear a sweater and probably keep a light jacket standing by; it can get colder, especially early in the a.m. or late at night.
If you are thinking of swimming in a pool that is not heated it will probably be too cold for you. If you are thinking of travelling to the ocean to a Central Florida Beach to go swimming you can do it, but it will 1) be cold; 2) you'll probably be about the only idiot out there; and 3) sharks really like the combination. Florida is one of, if not the shark attack capital of the world.
I did go swimming at Daytona Beach one year in Feb. and it was pretty dumb because I knew better, but hey it's up to you.

Sorry. that's the superb you will get. convey some warmish clothing (sweater or jacket) and need for the superb with shorts and tank tops. yet do no longer plan on spending lots time on the sea coast. The water remains chilly!

Usually its pretty cold. Water temps are about , 59d F today. In water temp that is kinda cold. You can swim in it easy with a wetsuit, prolly a spring suit, but I would go full cover with Heads,Hands and Feet. Hypothermia is not to be taken lightly.
