Excellent question... evidently they see an opportunity that everyone else has missed. Or they just get plain lucky. Or perhaps they are born with a talent that pays well in our current society (baseball, football, tennis, golf, music, song, etc.). But that's not to say that you couldn't be a millionaire... I firmly believe that if that's your motivating factor, you could find a way. I think billionaires/millionaires pay a huge price for the money they have accumulated... some are lucky and find love, but most are driven by their work and therefore miss moments with their families that they would treasure beyond their net worth.

I don't think it has anything to do with what one does or doesn't see... Sometimes people have things because they are born into wealth. Others struggle and work themselves into the ground until they reach their goals.

Every now and then you stumble upon your own lucky penny or you read about people that win the lottery, find a briefcase, win a law suit. And I can remember when Ed McMahon used to knock on your door with a giant check, flowers and a microphone.....but what are the odds?

With or without millions/billions, our lives are what we make them. If you are content with who you are; if you can appreciate the beauty of the world around you; if you dream, if you love, and if you are loved....you may very well be the wealthiest being in the world.
