AVGfree from grisoft.com is pretty good.

To clean a trojan, you can try stinger from http://vil.nai.com.

Free & works pretty darn good.

If you have norton you can extend the subscription by going to services and then the tab. You can update by buying the renewal online or go to the store and buy the disc. IT REQUIRES A PURCHASE. If you don't want to have to do that, delete the file manually:

After norton detects it look at where the virus is located on your computer. Open the folder it is in, do not add the file name to the end because this will start the program. Find the file in the folder and right click on open with and select notepad, text docs, etc and open it and delete everything you see and save, now you have corrupted the file and then try to delete it from the file. If it fixes it self, check nortons database for any files it may have extended and do the same until it stops and they can be deleted. Any questions feel free to contact me at dustinh456@gmail.com

First of all, don't get Norton, because it will almost take over your PC. It's really aggressive. I have : AVG Free Edition 7.5 for anti virus, and it's great. I set it to download the latest up-dates each day on start up.
Getting those updates is vital. Because AVG free edition 7.5 does not have a firewall for spyware, I use SpyBot Search & Destroy anti spyware
software, also free. AVG free edition 7.5 is available for download at Grisoft.com
