Did you know it would be the last? Would it have been any different if you did know?

Yes, Yes, and Yes. My Daddy. I said Goodbye on the Sunday before, when we left after having dinner with my parents. Then I said Goodbye to him over the phone on the Tuesday morning before he had his heart attack while trimming the shrubs he loved to manicure. Then I said my final Goodbye at the Funeral Home the next day because my Aunt told me I would never forgive myself if I didn't walk through those drapes to look at his body and how great he looked (?) But when I DID cave in and go through those drapes to look and to talk to his body in the casket my Mother let me choose, I thought I knew what he was concerned about and wanted me to do now for my Mother then. My Aunt was right. I am so glad I did summon the courage to walk through those drapes and find out what my Father wanted to tell me. What did I learn? I learned that I'd better show the people I love that I DO love them every time I see or talk to them because death can come at any age. You made me cry but that was a Very Good Question, powerful enough to take me back 22 years!! Thanks. I needed that.

Yes, but I didn't realize it at the time that I'd never see him again. I didn't know for nearly two weeks. It was a shock. Yes, it definitely would have been different if I had known, because I would have tried furiously to have it not be the last goodbye.

I have said good-bye for the last time, and we knew it was the last time because we talked about it. We were together for a while and then after I got married and everything we decided it was best if we just said goodbye for good. It's hard because there are time where I wish I could talk to him just to see how he's doing...if I hadn't known I'd never talk to him again, it would have been easier because then it wouldn't bother me so bad. Now it's like talking to him is against the rules or something.

I testified against my baby daddy for killing 3 people. At that time I was overwhelmed with hate. He did horrible things to me.
After I testified I walked off the stand and said "it all came back to you, have a great time in there." I said it with a cold tone. I don't regret how and what I said.

He is now serving 3 consecutive life sentences in MInnesota.

It is tenitively the last time I saw or will ever see him.
WHen my daughter gets old enough, she can choose to see him.

The only time that I say goodbye is when someone dies. My dad, my mom, my first husband, and we were divorced, my boyfriend, they all died and I told all of them goodbye. Saying goodbye to someone means that I will never again see them.

Yes Natalie,

The last time I saw my mom we both knoew that it would be the last. As long as I live I will never erase that moment in my mind. I get chills thinking about it.

Live life and make the most of it and always tell people you love them and treat them good.

Love you!!

Yeah, my great grandmother. She was sick for a while, so I knew this was the last time I was going to say goodbye.

Yes, I knew it. She died a month later. It would not have been different because I did know it and she knew it too. We both pretended everything was gonna be OK but we both knew she didn't have much longer on this plane of existance.
