They can be both. Sometimes they are injected to have the exact pattern of red and white, other times they are bred and won't have the exact look. You should ask the store. The injected ones will lose their color or die after a few months. Cruel process really.

undemanding fish to reproduce? eye-catching colourful (a minimum of the boys are) and occasional-priced? Then Guppies are for you. Guppies are inexpensive LIVEBEARING fish which will rather breed as quickly as a month or so. The men are extra colourful and eye-catching than the ladies individuals (specific men r prettier) and thats the way you intercourse them. that's recomended to get extra women individuals than men 3:2 ratio is what i used as too many men ability the ladies individuals gets harrassed and then under pressure and then will fall unwell :/ If youve tried guppies there are different livebearing undemanding to reproduce fish like Swortails. Platies. Mollies. dont trry breeding cichlids until youre extra matured Sorry for typing blunders, fractured finger desire i helpeded

Naturally colourful. I breed them and I am working on a tricolour fish...apricot front, white rear and black fins and tail. I have bred them but now need to get them to breed true to type;
One little reject I have is apricot with a big black patch behind his head. We called him Spot (very original!) and he's easy to see, even in a 4 ft tank;
Note to sabersquirrel...ther is a blood red mollie. They have amazing red eyes...I have 3 (2 females and a male);

I've never heard of candy cane molly, but molly come in white, black, yellow, orange, and brown. I've never heard of red. but it doesn't mean someone's hasn't breed a strain red molly (Platy, and guppy come in red.) Also I've never heard of them being "painted". If they were injected with dye they'd be white with odd looking lines. Molly have spots, and can be darker on top, but no lines.

I wish you could provide a link. =(
I can't find -anything- about them naturally,so it could be it's a man-made variety or a painted type.
