Did you enter a lottery in U.K.? If you did not, then you could not have won. This scam is repeated almost daily. I sure hope you did not call. He has your phone number. IF you do fall for it, he will sap your bank, your credit cards and all.

I got same email from mailbot@yahoo.com without contact person, it is looks perfect from Yahoo Inc to their members with scan yahoo logo. The subject: YOU HAVE WON THE SUM OF $300,000.00 DOLLARS FROM YAHOO
He/she said:
This is to inform you that you have won a prize money of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND U.S DOLLARS ($300,000.00) in the YEAR 2007 YAHOO! Lottery promotion which is organized by YAHOO! LOTTERY INC for the introduction and Launching of the new YAHOO! BETA MAIL which all YAHOO! subscribers are required to switch to.
YAHOO! & MICROSOFT WINDOWS, arranged and gathered all the e-mail addresses of the people that are active online, among the millions that subscribe at YAHOO!, HOTMAIL and others we only selected THREE (3) candidates as our winners after undergoing the random selection process through Electronic Balloting System (E.B.S) without the candidate applied, we congratulate you for being one of the people selected.
I do contact to yahoo's customer care for investigation and still waiting a reply. I know it is scam, I will not give my personal information he/she ask. Thank you

Me think you being tricked 0041**********is a Swiss number that does not exist ( I live here and have just checked ) and 00 971 ********** is some where in the Arab Emirates , I would not send the money, and in any case in any lottery, IF you win THEY send you the money they do not ask for it.

This is a scam.
Check out this website:
http://www.biskitz4cheez.com/lotteries.htm
It will explain it better than I can. There are other scams you should be aware of a well on that site. I've been forwarding my scam emails to this site: http://us.f352.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=admin@biskitz4cheez.com&Subj=lottery%20scam
So more people can be aware of this problem. I'm guessing it goes into some database and documents each scam.

It's a SCAM. Do NOT send them anything. You will never see your money again. There are NO lotteries that announce winners by e-mail and Yahoo does not run any lotteries.

Many scams use names of legitimate companies in their names to throw off unsuspecting people to the scams. Do not fall victim to this type of rip-off. Trash the papers. Never send money,or personal information to such an offering.
Remember: "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't"

Please ignore it. Be aware of the fact that if you have won any lottery you would not have to pay a cent or penny towards it. Please i beg you with tears in my seagreen eyes, just cancel it and in future just spam it. Or send it to the fraud-squad [ police] and they will confirm what i have just told you. Do not send any money it is a scam.:))

SCAM!
You never need pay to receive an award.
Anyone asking you to pay to get your award is scamming you. Pull his chain and tell him to deduct it from your winnings...
If you send money, expect to receive nothing and lose what you send.
This is a very common practice among scammers.
