It would help to know how old you are. Most of the time, the blushing problem goes away as we get older. More exposure to different people and situations tends to relieve a person of blushing. It is a sign of shyness and self-consciousness. The more things you experience, the less shy you will be, usually.

I don't know of any kind of hypnosis or medication that will change that. I think just a little more maturity will make a difference for you, as it did for me.

Talking to somebody about the things that make you blush-- that probably would help, too. You'll be surprised how insignificant those things are, when you talk about them. It's like nightmares:
when you put them in words, they are not as scary as they seemed when you were dreaming them.

Good luck with that.

Blushing is caused by the feelings you have of ones self. Lack of self esteem, you might not feel it but you just need to be more confident in yourself, like who you are, accept who you are and over time the blushing will slow down and be less intense. Just laugh the blushing gets less intense and you get more comfortable with yourself, if you make a joke out of things and you don't worry about it! i used to blush when I was a kid whenever someone looked at me. Now you can't make me blush, I will do things so silly just to make people laugh, others would be embarrassed and turn red in the face but I have self confidence and know i am a good person! If you rip your pants in the butt and everyone sees it just make it a joke, we are humans and things do happen. Lighten and enjoy life, life is what you make it! Not what it makes you!

Why would you want to alter you brain chemistry to stop blushing. Blushing is not an illness or something that requires a medical solution.

What makes you blush and why? Say it is sex or talk about sex.
Read a text book about whatever it is to desensitize yourself to the subject. Thinking about a subject in matter of fact way will help you be less embarrassed.

Actually I love guys whose ears turn red when they blush .. I think its cute!! I would not want them to stop.

I understand this problem. I had it when younger. It does go away but you want help now, today. I understand.
Its only a problem because you do not want it to be there.
You will find later it is a nice thing. People like it.
Really. Try to keep it. They that is to say the good/nice ones will respect you more because they will see you have feelings . Really they will so like you more. The rest of people you do not need to be concerned about.

if it is blushing as a response, then i don't know but.. if you actually have something called rosacea then you could look in to getting a broad band laser (BBL) treatment. i work for a plastic surgeon and we use this type of treatment for rosacea. usually our patients see great improvement after about three treatments. good luck!

As others have written, both genders find blushing attractive in the opposite sex so why stop?

Do you not like being attractive?

where as this is cute in young children it can be a severly embarrassing problem when carried to the extremes, the best method i found for unwanted flushes is bitin on the skin in between your thumb and forefinger.

Hope this helps - good luck!

Erm, dunno about psychological therapies, but if it's really bad you can get foundation that helps hide it . . . See source. If you're a bloke who isn't too keen on wearing foundation, maybe some assertiveness or confidence training. NLP do something on shyness. Try the other soure . . .
