rub it on your teeth. it will feel rougher than a fake one, like gritty sand...the fakes dont feel like that.

A real pearl feels rough on your tongue,has not got a high shine to it an dissolves in vinegar and is NOT perfectly round.

Irregular shape, pinkish, rought texture. I have one at home, tiny one picked from an oyster in china.
