You know what is really sad about this is that the war was started for purely economic intrests. So that Geo. Bush's buddies could make a lot of money and get control of the Iraq oil.
In spite of what Saddam did the US military would not be in Iraq if there were no oil. Now they cannot leave because of the oil intrests and "rebuilding" of the country by US Corporations. Perhaps it is time to have a law that says if a President declairs war or a military operation for economic intrests that he be tried as a War criminal.

Well, I'm not a Republican, but perhaps they don't think political differences should be taken to such an extreme as to turn the US into a big, fat third-world country. As a member of the "loyal opposition" I can see his point, have my disagreements, and keep my stupid mouth shut when appropriate. I also understand that there are always innocents killed in war, and that long-term goals can't be wrecked because of short-term concerns.

1:There was a direct threat in Iraq.
2: Innocents die in every war...not a crime.
3: While all of you want to crucify Bush, who, by the way, was not alone in this, the fascist freaks out there are only getting stronger and will have us bent over if people don't pull their heads out of their arses. One thing at a time.
P.S. LEEF...let me guess....you're against war and the death penalty, but you probably find it quite find to drill a hole into the head of a child (who could survive outside the womb) and put said child to death. Filthy libs will have to answer just as everyone else will, but thankfully, my list will be shorter by far.

Because people of that mindset think the world and everything in it should be at their disposal.
What do they care about people in Iraq? They were an obstacle to bigger profits, so it must have been right to kill them.
It galls me no end, that these are the same people who cry so loudly over abortion.
Iraq was never a threat to US security. They who believe that just show that they are unable to interpret the facts that are in plain view. Instead they choose to believe in the gouvernment propaganda. The most charitable interpretation is that perhaps a shred of decency would make them feel very guilty otherwise.

Because someone had to do something to get Saddam out of power to stop the atrocities that were far to frequent with his regime. Unfortunately the USA was the country to do just that. In time the good will outweigh the bad. Iraq was a safe harbor for terrorism as well which is a direct threat to this country.

Don't be such an idiot!
First of all, Saddam Hussein was an illegitimate ruler who gained power by murdering everyone in the previous government! He killed over 2,000,000 people in his wars, his reign of terror and his suppression of public dissent and protest. (refer to gassing of tens of thousands of Kurds, burying alive 100,000 Shi'a, torture deaths of 50,000 small children etc, etc,
So, secondly, he WAS a threat to the entire world, even you clowns in the US and especially to all his neighbors in the Middle East. (refer to War with Iran, 1st Gulf War, invasion of Kuwait, missile attacks on Saudi Arabia and Israel)
And thirdly, it was the responsibility of the PEOPLE OF IRAQ to rid the world of this fascist serial killer. It was their responsibility and theirs alone! When they failed to do this and allowed him to run free killing, torturing and terrorizing everything around him, they lost all moral right to complain about the consequences of their cowardice.
(If your brother is a mass murderer and the police have to storm the house to arrest him, and they accidentally break the TV and kill the family dog, it is HARDLY their fault! It is HIS fault, and the fault of YOU and YOUR FAMILY for harboring him in the first place!)
