She would hit us or lock us up until she thought we were ready.
She would get our step-father to hit us. He'd use a bamboo stick, a slipper, a piece of curtain wire folded in half - so it hit twice with every stroke. He also used a clothes brush, a belt his hand. i was once woken by my mother as she was slapping my face. She thought i was playing-up, but i was asleep.
She hit me with a sweeping brush when i was 4 or 5 and locked me in an empty box-room for a while. She was upset because my dad hadn't turned-up to see us. Then when he arrived, i had to watch him walk away through the bedroom window, as she'd told him i couldn't go with him.
There are too many ways to mention.

mind the goats? haha. when I was little my parents were to busy fighting to ever punish me. I have never been grounded.
