Learn to read music and play the piano, first. Then knowing how to play both a bass and treble clef, you can learn just about any instrument you want later on.

According to modern "music," you shouldn't learn any instrument. You should wear your pants down to your ankles, coat your teeth in metal, and yell about whores, money, and any profanities you can possibly think of. Good luck with that!
