Very simple process.

1. Need a wireless router. Brands: Netgear, linksys are good name brands. They cost less then $45 or so.
2. You also have to have a wireless network card on your pc or laptop. If not, then you will need to buy them.
3. Connect the wireless router with your ISP device (such as cable modem, DSL modem, etc.)
4. Power on pc, load the software that comes with the router, and follow prompts to detect and connect to your wireless connection.

This is the basic setup. If you want to configure secured wireless connection, then you need to configure your router to use encryption and or use access control to allow on "your" computers or "your" laptops. This might get a bit complicated.

Start with the basic, see if this works. Then play with the security settings!

Good luck.

Hope this helps.
