Please watch it and make up your own mind.
its pretty good in my opinion, makes you realise that acting is a true skill.
besides the acting, it brings home the real issue - how prejudiced we are as humans, how we destroy and fear that which we dont understand and approve of.

I love heath ledger in most of his movies!
and the gay issue does not bother me at all!!!
I mean i love the show "queer as folk", and to be honest i would rather watch it than Brokeback Mountain anyday!!!
I didn't like the movie one little bit!!!
And i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
And another thing... it didn't make me cry at all!!!
I am a sucker for a great romance, but i just felt the story didn't have enough body!!!
I just don't get all the rave reviews, sorry guys!

It is an excellent picture. I didn't think I'd like it, but watched in a movie channel a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. The love scenes are hard to watch (but must have been even harder to act). My 70 something year old mom liked the movie also.
Coming from Wyoming, the site of a horrible gay bashing murder a couple of years ago, I was glad to see the hate issues dealt with so openly.

I think the controversy was totally uncalled for. I mean, c'mon people have to accept homosexual relationships too. I dunno why they find it so difficult. Anyways, its a really good movie. I cried at the end when Ennis clutched Jack's old shirt and cries..
Anyway, the actors are all top class but Ledger stands out. He is simply magical. Great movie. Go and see.

Its an excellent movie!!!
Beautiful breathtaking background of mountains and lakes (filmed in Canada) and certainly excellent acting along with great story line. One of the better movies I have seen recently. It opens up the eyes of the blind, it opens up the mind of the conservatives, it shows that these are just everyday people, living normal life and fell in love. See this movie, in other words, see it for yourself.
Thank you.

Brokedick was a gimmick for Hollywood to promote as best picture but it failed miserably to get an Oscar. Last years Oscar's was all gay and Trany movies. The box office suffered as a result of pushing gays down the publics throats and Hollywood changed its ways this year to recover lost revenues. The box office did better this year.

Its an excellent movie. You just need to realize that society forces some gay men to feel that they must get married and raise a family. Like the typical American dream.....
Being gay is not a choice, your born that way, and you have to deal w/ it. Until gays are completely accepted, some gay men wouldn't have to live a life in lies. Knowing that, it will only enhance the ending.

I have watched it and I thought it was a very good movie, it's really sad though! I also agree with the person who said that Boys Don't Cry is a better movie!

I thought the film was quite good. Definately worth watching if there's nothing else on. But it wasn't one of the best films I've seen. And as for films on that ilk, Boys don't cry is certainly top of its class.
And on top of it all, I don't think Jake Gyllenaal could do any bad acting in my eyes *sigh*...

Ya know, it is good. I didn't think they had to put so much gay sex in it though.
I was kind of shocked on that but the acting was awesome, as well as a good story.
