intel core 2 duo is intels Brand spankin new chip! not gonna be cheap, with the 2.16 ghz WOW and then put it in a imac, i think you wanna wait a few years then u can find a "cheap" one! besides that try tigerdirect.com there pretty cheap when it comes to buying computers...good luck!

Have you run Defrag yet, If the data is all over the HD it takes time to get to it. If after Defragging and it's still here the other thing. Could be the beginning of a HD problem. Symptoms of a HD's going bad is slowing down.
