Do you remember the Asian ex-classmate scene?what's it got to do with the whole story anyway.
the movie was good, just that the scene bothers me a lot.
any explanation?

I might be missing something, but I think you're right. It really doesn't seem to be any part of the storyline - it's just thrown in there like they thought "hey, this would be funny". I guess you can consider it just minor funny-sad side trip. It really didn't do a whole lot to develop Marge's character or the plot line, nor did it seem to throw any real confusion in about where things were going - it was just a blind alley. My opinion anyway.

Just because it doesn't "move the plot forward," many think it doesn't belong. But it's the key to Margie. Her handling of the situation with grace and humor ("I think you'd better sit over there--that way I don't have to keep looking over at you.") gives us confidence in her and compassion for her. It enriches her in ways that don't seem obvious.
