There are 4 bulbs on my kitchen light fitting and two of the bulbs
have blown. Am I saving on my bill by not replacing them, or
does it make no difference.

It is using half as much wattage with half as many working bulbs. If you really want to save on energy costs replace all of your regular incandescent bulbs with compact florescent lights (CFL). They use about 1/4 the energy for the same brightness. They are more expensive, but they last far longer as well. You may also check with your state as some states offer rebates to help bring the costs down.

New on the horizon are LED (light emitting diode) bulbs that use even less energy than CFL's. The drawback is cost on these as well. New technoligy is always more expensive for the short term. I'm just not ready to pay $20 for one light bulb no matter how much energy it saves. I'll wait til the cost comes down.

I'd say saving. If not your saving the cost of the bulbs at least.

Yes you have halved the cost in using this light provided that all bulbs were of the same wattage.
