But you have a right to apply for a pardon to the Governor of the state in witch the crime was committed! misdemeanors can be expunged if you have not been in any more trouble for 10 years witch means it is off the record.A felony is different It will stay on your record but it will depend on the class of the felony the lower the better the Governor has in his power to grant a full pardon so your record will show the felony and a full pardon. Some times it helps when applying for work not always The best time to apply for a pardon is the year before an election you have a better chance of getting it they want your vote.

They stay on your record your whole life, unless you commmited a crime befoer you turned 18, then it dissapears.

Depends on the offence obviously such crimes as murder which carry life sentences remain on for life because release is on licence for life.

depends on the crime, and depends on what type of job you are applying for. Some crimes are NEVER spent.
