Abortion is a medical procedure that should ONLY be discussed between the woman and her doctor. I have no right to infringe in her privacy. I wouldnt want anyone to violate MY rights and tell me what to do with my body. I have no right taking away a person's rights, born or unborn.

But I am AGAINST abortion. I totally DESPISE abortion and if I were a woman Id never have one. BUT I am not a woman and would never know how it is to be one and wont JUDGE the circumstances of their abortion: whether they were raped, whether the pregnancy will hurt her and the child's health, psychiatric problems or whatever. It is NOT my business. It is a medical procedure btwn her and her doctor, a medical professional.

Im not pretentious to think that others cant think for theirselves to be morally right. I have belief in other people and the choices they make. Taking away freedom to choose would kill the idealogy of what America stands for.
I am pro choice, since Jesus said not to judge.

That makes perfect sense because I feel the same.

I, personally, am pro-life in that I wouldn't do that but I give the right to other women to make that choice for themselves.

It makes total sense, i believe the same way, but fo different reasons.
I believe in the functional aspect of legalized abortion. and that is the fact that it is more favorable to keep it legal, and regulate it, then give would-be criminals a way to make $$.

I also wouldn't want to see a plastic bag of illegally aborted fetuses tossed oout of a van on its way by my yard. It would be pretty hard to explain to the kids, what the dog was chewing on.

if bible-thumpers, would get some logic, they would see promoting safe sex(which is more realistic), rather than abstenince for jesus, would prevent more abortions! they can't see the forest for the trees!

to the guy above: most, if not all hospitals, will not perform abortions at the 22 week period, unless it is obvious the child will not survive, and the mother can be saved if it is aborted. many hospitals have strict policies about how late an abortion can be performed.

By the time you contemplate abortion for birth control, its too late. You have a living organism inside you. Recent studies show that the fetus can feel pain around 6 weeks of gestation so if you proceed with an abortion, you are torturing your fetus before you kill it.

I believe there are certain times where abortion is warranted. They are if the fetus has birth defects incompatible with life, if the woman was raped and became pregnant, or in cases of incest. Other than these instances birth control starts at the moment of intercourse with placing a condom or by using some other method of birth control. (Rhythm method not recommended)

The fact that a woman has the right to have an abortion, does in no way become a requirement,as some would have you believe, The choice is entirely placed with the responsible party, and in NO WAY should involve any "outsiders",no matter how much they love to meddle in other people's affairs

A lot of us, especially those sans uteri, feel that way. It also disturbs me when "pro-life" people are denigrated as "Bible thumpers." Those who would do so should realize that these folks are just trying to prevent infanticide, in their view, and if open hunting season were declared on them they'd want somebody in their corner, too. Abortion is certainly not the moral equivalent of an appendectomy, and is obviously over-used for the mother's "mental well-being," an all-to-easy catch phrase. It's certainly bizarre that we find it perfectly reasonable to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to try to save a 22-week baby and yet have no restrictions on aborting a fetus even older. If I had an answer, I'd love to give it. As it is, I can only grieve and pray.

I so agree with you! If I had to label myself (and quite often I DO here in the Politics area of Answers), I would say that I am an anti-abortion, liberal feminist.

And, as far as the last sentence: Jesus said, "Judge not lest ye be judged." We could all learn a thing or two from that statement, couldn't we?

I feel the same way. I am too against abortions, I believe that babies are gods gift. But in the other hand if someone wants to have one for medical reasons that is their choice. I personally couldn't do it, I can't hate some-one of my friends for doing it either.

It makes sense to me. I believe that if Christians truly want to be pro-life when it comes to abortion, then they must also be pro-choice, and leave that decision, which is undeniably moral, up to the woman, her doctor, and her God. Her government or her political party should stay out of it.

Furthermore, what amazes me is that very often, the same people who are pro-life are also pro-death penalty, pro-war, and anti-environment. Never mind the fact that war, the death penalty, and destruction of the enivornment are also ways in which human life is destroyed. It sounds like many of your answers agree that to be pro-life is to be pro-All Life.

One can be against abortion if one realizes a FETUS is not a BABY. Most rational humans do not want a viable baby able to survive on it's own aborted. Right to Lifers make no distinction on the "able to survive" phrase.

Yes, I am the same way. I cannot judge these people, that's up to God. And who knows what experiences He is using with these women (and men), to turn their lives around ? That's why I'm against people who hound the clients outside of abortion clinics.
