It's not music - it's volume. Music played super loud through speakers will damage your ears. If you listen to music through your mp3 a lot, you can damage your ears even at moderate volumes - but it needs a lot. Moderate use at moderate volumes - no problem.,.

But I've been on a subway train in New York, and been able to hear the music a guy was playing on his mp3 sitting across the aisle from me. Now THAT is loud, and that guy better sign up for lip reading lessons.

yea... its not the music that will cause deafness, its the volume you are listening to the music at. To avoid hearing loss, instead of listening to music with ipod headphones, use headphones that go ON your ears and not IN your ears. you can also listen to music on a stereo or something else that will prevent the sound from being played directly near your ear. Research has showed that anything above 1/4 of the volume bar (on your ipod) can be dangerous, so if you are listening to music, keep the volume level below that.

Any constant noise will damage your ear. Music played a lot through earphones will definatewly cause you to have hearing problems. Not necessarily a loss of hearing but the ear will learn to ignore some sounds. That will only get worse the more you listen. Loud music no matter how it is sent to the ear does damage the hearing and those earphones are capable of being much too loud.

no longer only iPod earphones - all earphones.. nicely, on condition that the quantity is up loud. i think of you ought to be waiting to take heed to what the folk decrease than a meter faraway from you're listening to. in the adventure that your song is up so loud which you won't be able to take heed to the folk around you conversing, the long words outcomes are which you will lose some listening to or ought to circulate thoroughly deaf. Who is attentive to?
