Well, as you can see from the answers as well as the 100,000 similar answers to the 10,000 similar questions, and all the speculations from all the human beings who have ever existed as well as all the innumerable religions and religious thinkers since the beginning of time, the actual answer to your question would appear to be:
"APPARENTLY NOT!"
I would like to point out that even the ones who are "born f...... lucky" ALSO pretty much "struggle through life, deteriorate and die," as well!
Perhaps finding the answer to your question is in fact the sole purpose of Life...............

Well, scientifically its all in the process of evolution since billions of years. Many organisms were formed in the process of evolution & human is one of them.So u r there. If u look the otherway, i mean religiously its entirely different. There are two ways u can see this.
First is the concept of rebirth & moksha. A person will be freed from the chain of rebirth only when the soul attains moksha(salvation). This can be achieved by the good deeds. If the soul hasnt attained moksha, then its reborn again as a human or animal depending on the previous births' deeds. The joys & sorrows too depends on deeds of the previous birth.
Second is a wider concept.Every human has a purpose to be fulfilled in that respective birth. It can be a good or even a bad prupose.
The struggle to live is all the part of this game.

That is a totally incorrect question to ask. ME, ME, I, I - Why am I here? What does life have for me? Why do I have to struggle? These are egotistical questions and the universe does not have an ego. To be able to live harmoniously with the universe, you must lose the ego. Humans are the only animal who have an ego - maybe that's why humans are the only animal that murders. You can take your first lessons about losing your ego by watching the squirrel in your back yard. Get a fish tank. Watch nature programs. Pretend you are in the middle of a National Park, with big trees, mountains, wild animals, running streams, stars, clouds....do you really need a reason for it? Who are you to demand such an answer. LIFE IS.

I think this question can only be answered in hindsight.
For instance in my situation, I can look back and see how certain things that I did in my life have had far-reaching effect. Just as in that "It's a Wonderful Life" movie, each of us affect those about us in many ways, some profound, some mundane, but the ripple effect of our being here and what we do and how we do it, can and may indeed change the world - although we may not or never see it.
It is a matter of trust and faith. We don't truly know, but we ARE here although we didn't ask to be born. So for me, I just trudge along that 'Road of Happy Destiny' to the best of my ability and watch for the wonders of the world as I pass along.
Why don't you join me?

You've missed the point - you are the one who gives meaning to your life, by what you do and how you do it.
There is no great plan by God - God gives you certain gifts (and it never seems to be a fair distribution, or I would have been born thin) - and the rest is up to you. You have the power to run your life. And you make of it what you will.
If you spend your life wanting to be something else and you do nothing about it - your fault. If you have a goal, a plan, a sense of values - live them.
THAT, my friend, is the purpose of life. Whatever you want to give it.

I'm not sure, but I'm hungry. I wish I'd had more for breakfast. Stupid idea going down to two meals a day. Back up to four tomorrow.
