The Necronomicon is a fictional book from the stories of horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. It was first mentioned in Lovecraft's 1924 short story "The Hound", written in 1922, though its purported author, the "Mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred, had been quoted a year earlier in Lovecraft's "The Nameless City". [1] Among other things, the work contains an account of the Old Ones, their history, and the means for summoning them.
Other authors such as August Derleth and Clark Ashton Smith also cited it in their works; Lovecraft approved, believing such common allusions built up "a background of evil versimiltude." Many readers have believed it to be a real work, with booksellers and librarians receiving many requests for it; pranksters have listed it in rare book catalogues, and one smuggled a card for it in the Yale University Library.[2]
Capitalizing on the notoriety of the fictional volume, real-life publishers have printed many books entitled Necronomicon since Lovecraft's death, many of which contain material of dubious value.

Necronomicon is a book connected to the satanic bible, all ana all it is losely based of both the Egyptian book of the dead and on Crowley's rituals, but more importantly none or the rituals are complete. This means that using this book is dangerous unfinished circleas and uncompleted chant will be much harder to cloose, please if you want to work magic, go to Crowley's Golden Dawn works

the nemanemricon is formally known as the book of the dead it has powerful and ancient spells to summon the spirits of the underworld and powerful incantations to summon or speak to the recently deceased it was a spirit guide that was developed by the mad Arab about 2000 years before Christ was Born it is a very powerful book it is not recommended to read out loud but if you must seek out modern day necromancers or witch doctors who still practice spiritual transformation

the book was a creation by HP Lovecraft to provide some backbone for his stories. I like his stories--and you may too. you should be able to pick up a multitude of HP Lovecraft short story books at a used bookstore for little or nothing.
hey---i'm a Lovecraft fan. my car's only bumper sticker is a play on the old "got milk?" ad campaign. mine says "got cthulhu?"

Book of the dead by other names. Egyptians had their version for the journey through the underworld. I suspect it is a general name given to funeral rights of different cultures.
