Personally, it happened in 7th grade and one of my girlfriends told me she saw a dk. spot on my butt. We had spaghetti for lunch that day so she thought I sat in some. I went to the bathroom then to the nurse's office got a pad. We called my mom who brought me another pr. of jeans, and life went on as normal. My Mom and I beacame more social on sex talking, and my best friend was jealous it didn't happen to her yet. Hopefully your experience wasn't a bad one either. It's life honey, life throws a lot of things your way when you are not quite ready for them.

Oh yeah...when I was in 7th grade, and I came home from school and went to the bathroom. Then I saw that my underwear had brownish streaks in it, and I just thought that I didn't wipe good (LOL :P) or something and just ignored it and got a new pair of underwear. Then later on that night I went to the bathroom again and it happened again, and the toilet water was all red (it wasn't when I got home from school, so it must've stopped for a while). So I had to go tell my mom, then I called one of my friends and told her, lol. It was a sucky day.

I had no clue what it was. I was scared, and really freaked out. I thought I was dying because I had never bled there before. It sort of lowered my self-image for a bit, but then I realized that it happens and there is nothing to be embarrassed about. It took me 6 years to realize this, but never late than never.

Oh, I knew what it was but, I remember feeling sad that day.
I somehow felt that I could not play sports like the guys and my younger sisters did.
Thank god .....I got over that feeling!
I'm happy to report that I'm currently active with sports.

I remember a lady telling me her story- this was in my native country. She said that when she had hers for the first time, she thought she was going to die.... later on, though when the Japanese invaded our country, she said that women used to rub chicken blood on their "vagaygay" to prevent being forced to have sex. She said that at one point a Japanese soldier tried to force her and her boyfriend (with whom she never had sex, yet) to perform sex in front of him, but luckily she had chicken blood in her panty. So, .... hey who would have thought having blood all over yourself down there could be a blessing? Interesting story isn't it? True story!

my grandma was 2 years old. she was wearing a white dress, and she was climbing up a cherry tree, her dress was all red, but she just thought it was a bunch of cherry juice. so she just went home and found out from her sister what a period was, and that she was on a period.
