Ginger has the website! but if you do go ahead be prepared and have a new bank on standby because once you make a claim you might find that your current bank will close your account and politely ask you to leave

working for a bank, yes in general you can. However how some people can claim £6,500 back is beyond me. Banks are well within their rights to charge you and will do so. The process involves writing a letter of complaint to the bank and if they refuse to refund the bank charges, taking them through the small claims court. Previously banks would not represent themselves at court however recently banks are beginning to ensure that they are doing this. If you want to claim your bank charges i would ensure that you did nothing illegal in incurring them(such as putting a stolen/fraudulent cheque in your account or writing and guaranteeing cheques with no available funds to pay them). If you have committed any of the previous actions the bank could be entitled to prosicute you and you may end up in more trouble than you banked on.

BE VERY CAREFUL HERE!!! As a Bank business manager, I have had customers writing these letters in to me hoping to get their charges back. The bank has actually been honouring these letters purely as a gesture of goodwill to its customers...and not because its in the wrong. HOWEVER...the bank can terminate its relationship with you if it wants to which means that you would struggle to find another bank account if your bank has been 'bouncing' on you.

Please think about doing this beforehand - that Martin (the so called money saving expert) prat is actually giving bad advice.....very bad - he could be cause you more harm than good - believe me I know.
