I agree. I've often said that "The Scream" is the most important work of art in the last century. More than anything else done in ANY medium, this painting sums up the twentieth century. The amazing thing about it is that it was done so early on, before the real horros of the century unfolded. This is the greatest piece of prophesy ever recorded. It broke my heart when when this painting was stolen. And now, even though it's been returned, it's been damaged and needs to be restored. I hope the Norwegians take better care of it this time.
For me -- the "Runner Up Prize" goes to "Nude Descending a Staircase," by Marcel Duchamp.
Cheers, mate.

So many...its hard to pick one...i am a huge Salvador Dali fan though...and one of his most thought provoking for me is Old Age, Adolescence and Infancy(the Three Ages)...its genius lies in Dali playing with our ability to interpret more than one thing...and our perception.......clever guy Mr Dali...;0)
