Politicians should not have the right to a private life because as public servants, they must be transparent in order not to be suspected as being corrupt.

When an individual decides to run for public office, his life becomes an open book.
You can say one thing and do a completely different thing.
Judging our elected officials on their private lives is a way of gauging how honest they are in their political convinctions. Do they practice what they preach basically.
Also they are a public servant and we have a right to know what our elected officials are doing so as not to disgrace the office which we have entrusted them with.

Fame, goes with the job.
A private life is not an option, when you decide to run for office, you are putting yourself out there. Know that before you sign on.
We have the right to know, about who we elect, who we trust with our freedom.
If a politician an has something to hide ,stay in the background.

Because they are constantly passing laws which give them rights to 'spy' on almost every aspect of our private lives (credit card usage, internet sites visited, and library books we take out to say a very few)... We deserve that same right or else they will be up do more dodgy dealings which cause conflicts of interest! If they take our money as taxes, we deserve to know exacly how it is to be spent!

They could be a sex offender or a killer, if you have the stuff it takes to be a politician and desire the clout, you then would be assuring the public that you have nothing to hide.
If you want to be a politician- political status - these people are supposed to be selling themselves to us as being trustworthy AND, proving this by hiding nothing.
