He either was solo with the group Yes or with Vangelis.
It was a ballad

Hmmm...I'm going to have to research this one:

Yes' last big hit was "owner of a lonely heart" which wasn't a ballad, in the 80's. The album that was out in 1990, would have been around the time of Big Generator with Trevor Rabin on guitar. Maybe it's on the Anderson, Buford, Wakeman and Howe CD (the group I call, "NO"), but I doubt it, that CD had no hit singles. I thought "UNION" was later and again, I didn't think it had any hits.

Solo, I thought he did some soundtrack work, but only had the xmas album, which had the hit in the 80's with "Three Ships". I didn't even know that he had worked with Vangelis.

I'll edit this if I run across it...I would check the songs on Union and Big Generator.

Good Luck,
B

The only big hit that I can think of he had in the 90's was with Yes, and that is "Owner of A Lonely Heart", but I would not call it a ballad.

Below is his discography. Are you sure it isn't John Waite (of The Babys and Bad English)? He had several hits in the 90's that could be classified as ballads and their voices are similar.

Okay you ready?
With Vangelis-"He is Sailing","I'll Find my way Home", "I Hear you Now" SOLO-"Time Marches On","For you For Me","Everybody Loves You","Time Marches On","Days of Days","Heart of the Matter", "Hear it"' or "Don't Forget". Hope this narrows it down for you.....

it might desire to have been some songs, consisting of "Striaght Tequila night" "Seminole Wind" "Swingin" or in all likelihood "money inteh financial company" yet that became no longer lots of a fulfillment. desire this facilitates!
