As far as I know you have to be a student at a college to play for their basketball team. The NCAA's website should have a pretty clear rule about that.

I dont believe you have to attend. I say that because a college team here where i live, even though this is football but its still a sport, our quarterback made an oral comittment to transfer to another school. but then he enrolled back into our school just to attend as a student but i do believe he is going to play somewhere else though. it would be hard to do that if the two schools were rather far apart but if they are close and you want to go to one for academic purposes and one for just sports and they are close like i said, then i wouldnt see why not. this also would apply for the case of a school you like to attend but they dont have a sports team there. if you could find a school nearby look into it. it may be possible. i could be wrong but i do think you can. especially if you are good. :)

possibly i don't no the exact requirements for your state but i have heard of home schoolers playing for a college basketball team and i have heard of people going to one college and playing at another but i don't it depends on the school and the rules for you state.
