hi grace, yes, vinyl siding can be installed in cold weather. the work will progress a little slower than it would during warm weather though. the contractor will have to make the cuts slower and leave a bit more room for expansion of the siding. also, any caulking will apply best on a warmer day. as far as cutting the material, it is done with a plywood saw blade mounted backwards so it almost melts through the siding as opposed to actually cutting though it. the siding should be stored during construction off the ground or in a garage if possible. a big advantage to having a siding job done during the winter is, the plantings around the house are dormant and less likely to be damaged. unlike roofing which needs warmth to seal down, siding except for caulking it, is weather tight as soon as the wall is closed up. another plus is that you may be able to save a little as most people don't think of doing home improvements during the winter so contractors are slow that time of year. do your homework, find a guy that you feel good about working with and enjoy your new siding come spring. good luck, hope this helps.

shop if off of the floor, or in a storage in case you could. no ought to deliver it interior because of the fact it gets chilly returned once you're working with it. run your plywood blade backwards on the observed and make gradual cuts. the blade will soften via the decrease and face as much as cracking it. do no longer omit the nail and hit the siding while outstanding it. gown heat and don't hit your thumb or arms with the hammer or that's going to harm lots! stable luck!! appreciate the day!

no, you can not cut it without breaking it. you can however put it in a warm garage and do the cutting while its warm and put it up quickly so the nails or screws do not bust it. but when it cools it will bust and crack a lot. do not try bending it cold!
