Does love exists anymore?.... this days when you ask what are you looking for a girl or a guy? people answer a tall and beautiful or handsome. Where did the love go, is love features this days.
The answer to what are you looking for in a girl or guy? I think it should be only love. Other than that you are looking for features, thats why people end up breaking up etc. Like Brut and Jennifer etc.

I read an article a few years ago now that claimed we look for qualities in a partner that remind us of our father (well for girls anyway, I assume it works the other way around also). Our father is the most major male role model we have from a very early age, and we feel most comfortable/happy etc if we emulate this.

I'm not too sure how this works with one-parent families though. The system is clearly not foolproof, ha!

It's lot to do with chemistry. It must be, speaking from the female side of things, you look up and see a guy looking at you, hold the glace for a while; look down and then don't look up again.
Count to three and there he is asking you if he can sit and have a coffee. It works every time. No obvious flirting needed.
It's chemistry, the eyes, the look, later the personality. May be it will end in love. mmmmmm.

Whether we like or not we are still mammals - and one of our biggest instincts is to find a mate that will be suitable and is different enough from us - for us to feel attracted to. Attraction is a visual, smell and taste stimulus - that is what gives us LUST. Love and depth of emotion comes afterwards once we learn to listen and trust. There is another theory out there that reckons that subconsciously we are looking for someone that behaves in a similar way to your dad/ mom - so we can nurture them - but then...

That's not true always. if it was there would be no broken hearts.
And what about when you wake up beside someone after a one night stand, and think.. oh noo...
was the fancy-system out of order then?

The evolutionary process always favors diversity as the key to the survival of the species. Therefore, humans are "wired" genetically with many different visual/sensual "cues" that illicit a sexual response.

Have a look at the wedding pictures in the local rag and see how similar the bride and groom's noses are for each couple.
