I don't really know what I am doing (computer illiterate) to say the least. I still want to be able to open up my incoming emails in Yahoo and have got Yahoo set as my homepage. Every time an incoming email arrives into my Yahoo Mail, this IncrediMail transfers it and puts it into their incoming Mail. I only want to use this IncrediMail to send emails because I like their bits and pieces to add to outgoing emails. Anyone out there can help, I would be so grateful. Please keep it simple, step by step instructions is a must for my brain. Also I opened up an email from Yahoo in IncrediMail, saying I had a best answer, but it didn't show up in my Best Answers column - Any suggestions why not ? ? ? Many many thanks.

I like Incredimail, and use it all the time, and I have Yahoo mail as well. And Hotmail. I don't have any problems.
Open Incredimail, and click on TOOLS and the in the box that opens, click on ACCOUNTS. In the box that now opens you will be asked to tick the accounts you wish to include when opening Incredimail.

On the bottom right hand side of the screen you should have icons showing which programs are active and running. Simply right click the Incredimail icon and a little menu should pop up. Press exit or close and it will turn off the program.

If you want to keep the program on your machine but only use it when you feel like it, the best bet is to stop the program from startiing up automatic when you start up your computer. You can prevent any program from auto starting on your machine by installin g a program called "Autoruns" on your machine, you get it for free from ---- http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx
It is a really simple program to use, you just run in it, view the list of programs it will show are starting up auto on your machine, then uncheck the BOX of any programs you do not want to auto start. You should then be able to use "Yahoo" without interference, when you want to use "IncrediMail" you will need to click the "IncrediMail" shortcut icon. Then to turn off "IncrediMail" see our friends advise below and right click on the icon in the tool bar in the bottom of your screen and tell it to exit. Failing that you can kill the "IncrediMail" process using your windows "task manager". A better program to use instead of "Task Manager" is called "Process Explorer" , again you can have it for free from-
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/ProcessExplorer.mspxWhile your on the "sysinternals" page take a look at any of the other programs you might need, all of them are free and are very good easy to use PC maintenance tools.
Oh, by the way, to use "Process Explorer, start it up, see what program is running right click on it and choose 'Kill Process'. Be carefull not to kill programs that are needed to run your operating system, don't worry you won't do any permanent harm, but you machine may shut down, it will be back to normal when you start it up again.
Hope this helps.

when i was new to emailing and the computer i also came across incredimail. You are right. it does have alot of cute icons etc BUT...
it is known to have viruses and yes, it does cause computer problems as well.
It isnt worth the cute icons for the long time problems that come with it.
Unless, you know someone very talented at replaces your windows program and deleting the one that gets damaged? i would suggest deleting the incredimail from your computer.

Life is easier without incredimail. I know their bits and pieces are neat but their just not worth the conflicts. Stick with yahoo its just easier. K.I.S. (keep it simple). If you need help deleting it off your computer just ask.

I like incredimail and have had no problems with it. I didn't even know you could import Yahoo or Hotmail into there. I could only import my IP's address.
