One dimensional to me is a phrase people use ie. "you are one dimensional". It means you are shallow minded or you only have one way of thinking. If you're looking for a scientific explanation then I can't give it sorry! I do think it's only a term people use in my experience.

Five types of dimensional are known to exist. The nat is a 0 dimensional point lacking length, width, and height. If it weren't for its concept of its own existence it might as well not exist at all. An uti is a 1 dimensional line (usually straight) that exists only as length it has no apparent end though if asked a dimmir will say it ends eventually.

It depends on what context you're referring to "one-dimensional." What it means depends on the context. In math, basically it means a line. No deviation from that line. It takes into consideration motion forward and backward on that line, but it doesn't leave that line. Time itself is considered one-dimensional. You can look backward on time, you can be in the present, or you can look to the future. But you're still on that line of "time". The line has "width" but no height or depth. You're right in saying two dimensions means the object has height and width...think of it as a square drawn on paper. You can define its height, and its width. Now, 3 dimensions you add depth. Think of a cube. You can describe its height, width and depth. So, one-dimensional is a line, two-dimensional is a square drawn on paper, and three-dimensional is a cube. One-dimensional socially means the person is flat, uninteresting, dull. It all depends on what you're looking for.

I hope this helps!

One-dimensional is simple a single line segment that does not describe height, width or anything else: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimension

When a person is perceived as being shallow in character they are often called one-dimensional.
