At least that's what she calls it. She has one lip larger than the other. It's not overly large but she's panicking and has come up with the term hanging labia and won't have sex with her boyfriend cuz she's afraid. (She's a virgin and he's a new guy) I want to know... is it normal to have one lip slightly larger than teh other? And what the hell does she mean by hanging labia. She's talking about surgery... is this for real? And how long would it take for her to recover from surgery down there?

Thanks for all the answers guys. I think the real reason she's so concerned about this is the fact that she's a virgin and she feels this boy is the one she'll give it up for. I will pass on everything you've said and hope she comes to her senses.

Almost every single girl I know has this, It's normal. Any man will be thankful that you even let him touch you there that they wont even notice. Its stressful to feel different down there. Imagine how guys feel, they have to shower together.. plus there pretty harsh on that subject. Don't you worry. all vaginas are different, their not all like the pictures in health class. A tribe in Central Africa actually stretches theres so they hang like 3-8 inches, wow! I read that in a magizine.

Sadly, they even airbrush and digitally enhace vaginas in porno magizines and on the internet to create a " perfect" vagina. Come on is that sad or what! Airbrushed Vaginas!

I know it's awful and I'll probally get in trouble for this... but maybe you should see for youself try to fing pictureson hte internet, or ask some on else to look. Like I said, most guys don't notice and dont care, I mean have you actually seen a penis area (ha ha) ! Imagine having to deal with that 24/7.

This is actually a problem I had myself. One of my labia minora was much longer than the other. It was very uncomfortable and could become irritated rubbing against my panties, clothes, etc. There is a procedure called "labiaplasty" that has just become available in the last few years. If the problem is serious enough to cause any discomfort then she needs to get an evaluation by an accredited PS and decide what is best for her.

It's normal to have large ones, it's normal to have small ones, it's normal to have one larger than the other and it's normal to have just one.

There is no reason for anyone to have this surgery, despite the fact that it does exist. From what I've heard and seen, the recovery period is weeks.

Shave all of this with your friend, including all of the links. And remind her that it simply means her partner has that much more to work with to pleasure her. It won't be a turn-of at all.

Surgeries at that part is not advisable because down the line it will be worse and moreover guys love it so no worries with her boyfriend give her some counselling and ask to go for it.

<<<< :-( Losing one more virgin LOL
Good Luck

It's perfectly normal to have one lip slightly larger than the other, just as it is normal to have one breast slightly larger than the other.

Your friend probably has nothing to worry about. She probably just noticed something about her body she doesn't like and is overly obsessing about it. It sounds as if your friend is seriously concerned about it's appearance and thinking she's "different" when, in reality, labia come in many different sizes.

Your friend should probably go to a gynecologist just to be assured that she's alright, nothing's wrong, and that she's perfectly "normal". It may also help to check out some medical books to see what other women's labia look like.

When people have body flaws, they make it sound WAY worse than what it really is. Yes, it's possible to have one labia larger or smaller than the other...but I'm sure it's not nearly as bad as what she's describing. Of course, I can't see what she's talking about. But if she's afraid of having sex with her boyfriend because of it, she shouldn't be. Guys are just happy getting any. They don't care about petty things that girls may notice on themselves.

I had my belly button pierced twice, one on top and one on the bottom--both times my body rejected it and I have really bad scars. I was SO self-conscious about them that I wouldn't let my boyfriend touch my stomach at all. It's stupid really and when I think about it now I laugh and roll my eyes. I guess every girl has a flaw that she doesn't like about herself. But something that is so major in a girl's eyes is so miniscule in a guy's!

i saw an episode of dr. 90210 and this girl had the same problem. the only problems is that can get in the way. plastic surgery is an option. but once you have kids, it gets all stretched out and mishapen down there anyway.

No two vagina's are identical. But they are all beautiful, please strongly advise her against plastic surgery. Her issue is not a physiological one it is one of self esteem and all too common in young women and more common in young girls. Unless by some freak chance this "difference" in her "tender bits" caused some sort of physical problem there is none....0......not one healthy reason to disfigure herself. And believe me any partner she has in life( hopefully they are all stable and mentally sound) will ever have a problem with that part of her anatomy......hygiene issues aside. Be well.

there is actually a surgery for this. I would have her contact a board certified plastic surgeon in her area to discuss the procedure. It is out patient and some insurance companies will pay. Good luck

YUMMY ... flabby labby

um ... tell her to use her other hand from now on, that way it will make the other one the same size

In the meantime tell her not to jump more then 5 feet high or she'll whistle on the way down

Honestly hun ... boys / her boyfriend will accept her with all her flaws ... in fact they may be able to help correct this thing. This problem is like having a wart zit on your face ... no ... a zit is worse
