This might be were the fans can voice the way they feel. Would stop watching on TV for the year. Or would you stand up and walk out of the park at all stadiums if Bonds is allow to swing for the record.

I'm glad that you, being a younger guy, are enough of a fan of baseball, that you feel compelled to ask this question.

I'm a 50-year old male, and am quite angry with baseball.

I used to be one of those kids that slept with his baseball mit, and used to listen to games with my little transistor radio, (from Michigan) trying to pick up Chicago games on WLS, or trying to find any baseball game on that stupid little radio.

I loved baseball!

Then as I got older and learned other aspects of the game, and understood why the Yankees have been the dominant team since day one, and realize that there must be something in the water...

What is it about Major League Baseball? These individuals can't be stupid, or can they? Any of these owners had to be smart enough to make obscene amounts of money in the business world, but once they buy a baseball team, suddenly their collective IQ drops about 65 points. I can't figure it out.

I remember how players looked in the 60's and early 70's, and those were baseball uniforms. Nowadays, I don't see any pride. To me they all look like they are wearing pajamas...

I know that's a rather stupid thing to say, but for me, that's how bad baseball has gotten. I don't even like how the players wear their uniforms!

You ask about Barry Bonds. In my opinion, you are coming along in the bottom of the 7th inning. I've been boycotting baseball since 1994. That was when these idiots chose to cancel the World Series.

That decision on the part of Major League Baseball told me everything I need to know. They don't give a crap about us fans. So you know what? I don't give a crap about baseball.

They are seemingly incapable of making a right decision. They even screwed up interleague play. The National league fans never see their teams play with a designated hitter, and the American league fans never see their pitchers hit. So how do they set up interleague play?

Naturally, when they play in an American League town, they go by American League rules, and vice versa... How stupid can that be?

I was sending an email to a buddy of mine, and we had been talking about baseball. I listed all the things I thought were wrong with baseball, and came up with 23 line items.

One of which was, "Why is Barry Bonds still playing?"

Look at the guy. He's in his early 40's and looks like a 22 year old body builder, for crying out loud. You think that's because he lives a good live and goes to bed on time?

The last time I endeavored to go to a baseball game was 1994, and I haven't been back since. I do my best not to follow the game, and in fact, my team was in the World Series last year.

They happend to have embarrassed me, the city, and the American league in front of a national audience, but that's beside the point.

I paid no attention. I had no intention to actually going to any of the games, watching any of the games, or reading about the games afterward, and I wish more people would do the same.

In San Francisco, Barry Bonds is looked upon as more of a victim, but if you are the star of your team, I suppose that's to be expected.

However, for the visiting cities he plays at, wouldn't it be great if no one showed up?

Why would anyone boycott baseball if Bonds breaks the record? It is less of an if and more of a when anyway. The funny part is why is the question even being asked. Barry Bonds has been proven guilty of nothing by the law are the public... other than maybe being a jerk at times. Right now and for the past four years all the talk has been about him using steriods and cheating. If this was proven case, he would have definitely been out of baseball by now and possibly in jail. Just because the media has over hyped allegations with him and a childhood friend of his was linked to the stuff does not prove that he did anything. I am not angry with MLB for letting him play and break the record, they have no choice. In addition, five years from now this will be a non-issue and he will be voted into the hall of fame if no true evidence surfaces. They won't have much choice without appearing unfaily biased. Speculation alone is not proof.

I don't think baseball should ever eliminate the records of a player. The record books are black and white, there is no gray area. When Bonds hits #756, he will have hit more homers then any other player in major league history. this is a fact that is true, regardless of whether he was on steroids, HGH, PCP, Heroin, crack or even NyQuil. However, baseball, more then any other sport, has a very rich history based on peoples judgment of a players ability and character, not just his statistics. The great thing about baseball is the arguments about who was better, and, although Hank Aaron is the all-time leader in HR's, I very seldom see him called the greatest player of all time. Barry Bonds will be the all time leader in HR's and nothing can change that, but even with that record, he is more likely to be remembered as a drug user, a liar, and a grade A ***hole. That is why baseball is so great!

Bonds is a joke. I have a friend that had his crap plastered all over his room when he was a kid. He was the biggest Bonds fan that I have ever seen and since then, he has sold off all of his Bonds memorabilia. That tells me right there that noone should should ever embrace that idiot. He is an arrogant jerk and when he breaks the record, I hope that he doesn't even get a mention on SportsCenter. San Fran fans are the weakest fans in baseball anyways, that is why they still love the cheater. Look at that city, they are the most diverse city and are afraid to let anyone know when they are angry or upset at anything. Bottom line, he shamed all of baseball..past or present. McGwire did the same thing, bt at least he sacked up and admitted. Sosa and Bonds need to be banned.

Bonds will break the record, its just a matter of when. Baseball's powers-that-be have already said that there will be no fanfare if/when Bonds becomes the HR king. This tells me that the record will be a hollow one. Just like the baseball world put an asterisk next to the single season record when Roger Maris broke the Babe's mark, baseball will (should) come up with something.

I would not boycott baseball, that would be too hard for me, I love the sport. But I would certainly boycott his induction into the Hall of Fame if he got elected, which I think will never happen. Besides, in my book, Aaron will always be the HR champ (at least until somebody breaks the record cleanly). By the way, should McGuire be elected some day, I'll boycott his induction, too. And the same goes for Sosa, Palmeiro & company. Canseco needs not be even mentioned. He's a burnt match.

No! He will hv the record. Who know's what under handed things Babe Ruth may hv done, to help him hit homers. He lived in a different era, where his every move was not scrutinzed. We know Babe was no saint. He was known to be a boozer & womanizer, etc. The bottome line, is that Bonds, was never endering to the fans, Mark McGuire was, and would not hv received such flack, if he was chasing Ruth's all time record. BTW, hitting a baseball at 90+ mph, is the hardest feat of all sports, no steroid use, or any other illegal supplement will help you hit a major league fast ball.

Bonds will not break the record I'm saying it again he is finally gonna show some class and retire after he ties the record.Any way it doesn't matter how many he hits there are 2-3 guys that will surpass him in the future.

No. Why should I?

The man is possibly the best hitter to ever play the game. His 2000 through 2004 seasons stack up favourably against anything Babe Ruth (or anyone else) ever put up over a 5-year span.

Give some appreciation to greatness.

There were similar outcries when Hank Aaron was about to pass Babe Ruth.

What's your reason for not liking Bonds?

I will not acknowledge Bonds breaking any record. As far as I'm concerned, Maris holds single season record and Aaron will continue to hold career record until someone beats these records fairly.

PS Babe Ruth is the greatest HR hitter of all time for other reasons.
